Because we believe that giving back is an essential part of corporate citizenship, we’ve started an initiative to promote
and support the needs of our local communities on an ongoing basis.


2022 Q4: Toys for Tots Drive - through 12/16/22

In 2018, the Twin Cities Toys for Tots campaign distributed over 168,775 toys, books and stocking stuffers to over 150,326 children in the community. The campaign would not have been a success without the community volunteers that donated their time, services or goods to help support the Toys For Tots local campaign.

2022 Q2: Jeremiah Program - Call for Donations - through 6/17/22

Jeremiah Program is a national organization with a mission to disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children, two generations at a time. Founded in 1993, JP is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with campuses in seven cities nationwide.

2021 Q3: Second Harvest Heartland - Virtual Fund Drive - through 8/31/21

Second Harvest Heartland believes no one should ever go hungry, as our region produces more than enough food for everyone. This quarter, we are participating in this virtual drive to help make sure kids and families have food on their tables this year.


Donation Opportunity: K9s of Valor Foundation

K9s of Valor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Their mission is to support our K9 officers and keep them safe by providing the life saving and essential equipment they need and deserve. They donate trauma kits, Narcan overdose reversal kits, Hot-N-Pop vehicle heat alarms, care packages and other essential supplies to law enforcement agencies at no charge.

2021 Q2: The Link, Minneapolis, MN

The Link works with youth and young families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice. We will be collecting items to help create “Household Kits” for youth and families just starting to overcome homelessness and poverty.


Volunteer Opportunity: The Link, Minneapolis

The Link works with youth and young families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice. Our 22 programs provide supportive housing, intensive case management services, and skills development to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness, sex trafficking and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system.

The Link prides itself on its innovative, youth-centered, strengths-based programming for youth and families as well as programs that are co-designed, implemented and overseen by youth.

FROZEN MEAL PREP
The youth and families in our programs struggle with food insecurity, but you can help! Cook a meal (or two) at home and portion it into single serve containers and freeze. The meals will be distributed to the youth in our programs, providing them with access to tasty home cooked meals! Reach out to Yong at volunteer@thelinkmn.org with questions or to coordinate meals drop off!

ADOPT-A-ROOM
The Link has 5-10 move ins a month throughout our programs. Most of our youth and families have experienced homelessness and have very few belongings. Help us make a new house a home by adopting-a-room! Bedrooms, Kitchens, and Bathrooms are available for adoption. Connect with Yong at volunteer@thelinkmn.org anytime with questions or to get started.

Volunteer Opportunity: Summit Academy OIC

Summit Academy OIC is an accredited vocational school located in North Minneapolis with a 50-year history of working in this community. It is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education. They have programs including Construction, Electrician and Information Technology.

They’ve got a variety of opportunities to suit your schedule, from once-a-week commitments to just a few times each year. The amount of time you spend is up to you!

  • The Summit Prep program, where you can tutor students in math or language arts once/week (long-term)

  • The Career Services department, where you can conduct mock interviews, help with cover letters and/or resumés, or participate in Career Fairs

  • The Best Buy Teen Tech Center, where you can help teens learn and utilize computers, 3D printers, music and film production equipment, etc.

  • The Northside STEM District, where you can help community children with fun, hands-on STEM activities

  • Guest lecturer, where students learn about your life and career experiences, and become familiar with resources in our community

  • Advisory Committees, where you can help Summit devise long-term strategic planning solutions

We will be collecting new and gently used clothing, books, games, and household goods - to be sold at Interfaith Outreach's Resale Select store in Plymouth, with proceeds benefitting children, families, and seniors in need.
